This way the wraps are made by their machines and the factory makes the straps in bulk for mass production. The custom muscles institute uses these straps on their store front which looks absolutely amazing and is also just a fantastic piece of leather. The straps were created with high quality cotton and are hand stitched so that they are soft and feel great against your skin.
The factory is located in Richmond, near Canterbury in the U.K. It's quite an old shop, probably dating back to the early 1900s or so. I got there last week and was impressed by the feel of the place. The walls are covered in pictures of bands and musicians, and I loved the fact that I could get some really nice music prints from it. Even though the factory has been around for a while, it still feels really exciting and new.
The factory opened up its doors to the public a couple of months ago. Right away they began offering some really nice prices on their leather wraps and custom muscles attachments. The price structure for their custom muscles attachments and straps is about $27.95 for the basic kit and the money can be used to outfit the band with more than one strap. However, if you already own more than one strap you would only have to pay for the new one.
In addition to the grips and the custom muscles, Tattoo Grips Factory offers other things as well. From tattoo hooks to tattoo rings, they offer all kinds of different materials. Most of the tattoo accessories sold by the factory come in leather and cotton, but they do offer some that are made of all sorts of fabrics as well.
There were a few times when we were at the factory where I was extremely impressed with how the staff was treated. The owners actually took the time to talk to the people who came in and showed them some of the best straps out there. The owner even had a regular customer there and let him hang out for a while.
If you are like me and you don't have much time to hang out in a tattoo parlor, I'd highly recommend visiting the factory first so that you can take a look at the actual tattoo attachment area where they make the grips and see for yourself what kind of metal works they use. It doesn't matter if you're in New Zealand or anywhere else, you'll still be able to see it for yourself. I know the staff there were very friendly and helpful, and the factory itself was very well organized.
I can definitely recommend the Tattoo Grips Factory to anyone. The guys and girls at the factory do an amazing job. They make straps and just about anything else you can think of in the world of tattoo equipment, so it's worth a visit.
